Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an Aircraft Maintenance Short Term Planner responsible for planning, coordinating, and continuously optimizing all maintenance activities within a for the Brussels Airlines fleet.

You will ensure that all due maintenance tasks, including both scheduled and unscheduled work, are properly prepared and executed.

You will ensure safe, compliant and efficient maintenance execution while minimizing operational disruption and supporting fleet reliability and availability.

In your role you will be responsible for the following tasks:

Short-Term Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

  • Plan and continuously adjust all maintenance activities within the day+7 planning horizon for the Brussels Airlines fleet.
  • Ensure the timely initiation and execution of all line and light checks due within the day+7 window, including associated ratable component replacements and unplanned maintenance tasks.
  • Schedule planned maintenance tasks in alignment with:
    • Task limits and due dates as defined in AMOS
    • Aircraft downtime and operational availability
    • Hangar capacity or external maintenance slot availability
    • Manpower capacity and qualification constraints
    • Parts, tooling, and material availability
    • Third-party availability for specialized tasks (e.g. NDT, composites, engine or landing gear work)
    • Maintenance forecasts from mid-term & long-term planner

Daily Planning, Monitoring & Operational Control

  • Perform daily follow-up and re-planning of the <7-day maintenance plan in response to:
    • Newly added or de-assigned work orders
    • Unscheduled maintenance events
    • Aircraft technical status changes
    • Operational disruptions and schedule changes
  • Proactively monitor aircraft events, technical status and AMOS reporting to maintain full operational oversight
  • Control maintenance task limits and intervals to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Prioritize and re-sequence critical tasks when constraints or disruptions arise
  • Provide planning input and recovery scenarios during AOG situations, balancing safety, quality, operational impact and cost efficiency

Work Package Preparation & Execution Readiness

  • Compile work orders and task cards into structured execution-ready work packages for all <7-day maintenance inputs
  • Ensure work packages are complete, accurate and feasible, taking into account:
    • Task scope and due dates
    • Required skills and qualifications
    • Parts, tooling and access requirements
    • Specific technical or operational constraints
  • Transfer finalized work packages to Production and support execution readiness
  • Coordinate with Work Preparation, Manpower Planning, Engineering and Logistics to resolve scope, material or technical gaps

Operational Coordination & Stakeholder Interface

  • Support daily coordination of newly added or de-assigned work orders, MEL, COCIL and DIL items as well as unscheduled maintenance events
  • Work closely with Maintenance Control Centre, Operations Control Centre and Network Planning
  • Act as the short-term planning focal point for operational execution topics
  • Coordinate with external providers for specialized maintenance activities (e.g. NDT, composites, engine or landing gear work) and ensure alignment on scope, timing, access and technical requirements

 

Your profile

We are looking forward to your application, if you fulfil the following requirements and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical orientation or equal by experience (holding a P66 licence)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an aviation maintenance, CAMO, or Part 145 environment
  • Experience in maintenance planning, production support or MCC is a plus
  • Having followed an aircraft technical course is a plus; experience on A330 and/or A320 family aircraft is a plus
  • Good knowledge of aircraft maintenance operations and maintenance planning principles as well as EASA regulations and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in MS Office, experience with AMOS is considered is a strong plus
  • Proficient in (technical-) English (verbal and written); Dutch and / or French is a plus
  • Ability to work effectively under time pressure and operational stress, with flexibility to support flight operations and shifting priorities
  • Structured, accurate and detail-oriented working style with strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Strong analytical mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented attitude
  • Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively in a team
  • Strong communication skills, combining assertiveness with diplomacy and sound judgment
  • High level of self-discipline, reliability, and compliance with rules, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Willingness to work in shift patterns (7 days a week)
