Manager Slot portfolio

Mission

Key responsible for an efficient slot management process, slot negotiation at and outside the respective IATA forums, relationship management with slot coordination facilitators and authorities and slot monitoring.

In view of slot management responsibilities, assists and acts as back-up for the Long-Term Scheduling Manager in preparing the production plan of the airline by assigning the right capacity to a developed network plan in line with operational restrictions, the negotiated slot portfolio and the overall network strategy of the company within a time-span of 12 months until the hand-over to Short-Term Scheduling (2 to 3 months prior to start of the IATA season) in order to continuously improve the profitability, reliability and punctuality of the network.

 Tasks: 

  1. Ensures timely submissions of the required slot portfolio with slot coordinators at all required airports within the LongTerm Scheduling period, manages SN’s historic slot portfolio efficiently and improves the historic slot portfolio on a continuous basis.
  2. Manages the slot contract portfolio with the respective contractual partners/lawyers whenever such contract or arrangement is required in order to achieve the required slot portfolio in highly slot constrained airports.
  3. Sets the 80/20 guidelines internally and manages the slot portfolio in coordination with Short Term Scheduling in order to safeguard the slot portfolio in terms of historic rights for subsequent seasons.
  4. Participates and manages SN’s participation in all scheduling/slots-relevant IATA industry events. Manages SN’s slot requests/portfolio at and during these events and acts as an ambassador for SN in a integer and professional manner.
  5. Ensures an efficient, clear and transparent slot management process throughout all involved departments in the company (focus: Operations).
  6. Manages the slot monitoring process for SN with internal and external stakeholders and takes appropriate action when slot usage violation should occur (ex ante and expost).
  7. Creates and continuously optimizes the company’s medium-term production plan (seasonal aircraft rotational plans) and the annual budget production plan by assigning the most cost efficient aircraft capacity to the developed network plan and taking into account commercial requirements (connectivity, schedules competition, etc.) in order to capture the maximum revenue and to optimize production resources to keep costs down. (in conjunction with the Manager Long Term Scheduling & Transversal Planning).
  8. Acts as a backup for the Manager Long Term Scheduling & Transversal Planning.

 Profile

  • Bachelor in Economics or equivalent by experience in the airline sector
  • Minimum 3 years experience in the airline sector; preferably minimum 2 year experience in airline scheduling & slot management
  • Knowledge of airline operations and/or slots regulations is an asset
  • MS Office
    • Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
    • In-depth knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of scheduling IT systems (e.g. Sabre Schedule Manager) is an asset
  • Highly analytical skills
  • Excellent Communication Skills - Influencer
  • Team oriented
  • Good knowledge of the English language both written and spoken is a must
  • Dutch and French
