The role's core focus is on overseeing construction and refurbishment projects with a keen eye on sustainability, aligning with the responsibilities of leading initiatives that improve workspace and operational space efficiency, environmental performance, and occupant well-being for both office as operational spaces (terminal , hangar).

You will have a comprehensive role focused on the efficient management and optimization of physical workspace environments, primarily for the LHG in Belgium. This position encompasses a broad range of responsibilities including space planning, project coordination, building infrastructure management, stakeholder engagement, budget oversight, quality assurance, and risk management. The candidate will be instrumental in ensuring that workspace requirements meet specific user needs through careful analysis, planning, and implementation of various projects related to construction, refurbishment, sustainability, and facility services optimization.

Tasks

1. Space planning and requirements management

    • Analyse and control workplace requirements in Belgium for the LHG.
    • Provide space in line with specific workplace and user requirements by evaluating the available space in the existing portfolio.
    • Generate alternative solutions: launch and development of necessary projects.
    • Define and implement workplace concepts and furnishing standards , and real estate processes.

2. Project Planning and Coordination

    • Leading of various projects regarding construction and refurbishment and sustainability including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
    • Establish clear project goals and deliverables, and regularly monitor progress to ensure adherence to timelines and milestones.
    • Complex problem solving using proper judgement, hypotheses and match interdependencies.

3. Building infrastructure Management

    • Responsibility for infrastructural and technical building management to ensure long-term safety and integrity of the buildings.
    • Contribute to the well-being of occupants, proper functioning and optimisation.
    • Energy resource management: optimise energy usage and implement solutions to improve energy efficiency.

4. Stakeholder Management

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams.
    • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between all parties involved in the project.
    • Address any issues or concerns promptly to maintain positive relationships and mitigate risks.

5. Budget and Cost Management

    • Manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring cost control measures are implemented.
    • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or project goals.
    • Provide accurate and transparent financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

6. Quality Assurance and Compliance

    • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure deliverables meet or exceed industry standards and client expectations.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
    • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to identify and resolve any issues promptly.

7. Risk Management

    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project timelines and budgets.
    • Proactively address any obstacles or challenges that may arise during the project lifecycle.
    • Implement effective contingency plans to ensure project continuity and success.

Your profile

  • 2-5 years of professional experience in real estate, workplace management, construction management and/or procurement is a must.
  • Bachelor degree in engineering, architecture or equivalent degree.
  • A certification in real estate and/or facilities management is a plus.
  • Seasoned specialization in Construction Project management.
  • Strong organizational skills that help you keep track of your tasks and manage your responsibilities more effectively.
  • Thourough negotiation skills.
  • English proficient.
  • Strong, result-driven attitude, ability to handle and manage conflicts.
  • “Problem solver” with a latitude to consider priorities in generally low defined / greenfield environment.
  • Able to work under strategic guidance with freedom to act and have medium to high impact on long term assets.
  • Customer service skills can help you defuse tense situations and have more productive conversations.
  • Communicate with a wide variety of people every day, including tenants, vendors and employees.
  • Proficient in sustainable building operations and/or building construction.
  • Technically specialized experience in infrastructure.
