Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a talented Health & Safety Officer (prevention advisor level 2) to become a key member of our Social Relations team, overseeing and advancing the workplace safety programs, and documentations as prescribed by the Codex and relevant legal framework. You play an important role in ensuring that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements. You support the operational effectiveness of the different departments in the organization, dealing with a wide range of occupational health and safety topics related to the aviation industry.

- You work closely with the Head of Social Relations, the Head of the Internal Prevention Services (Health & Safety Manager), management, and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to strengthen the organization’s health and safety performance and culture and to address proactively emerging risks.
- You execute all duties and tasks of an internal prevention advisor as described in the Act on Welfare and Codex.
- You execute assignments provided by the employer with a focus on analysing risks and incidents, identifying root causes, and advising management on implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence of occupational accidents and to eliminate or mitigate risks in the workplace.
- You maintain records, logs, and reports, ensuring all required data is complete, up to date, and readily accessible for management and stakeholders, as well as for inspection or audit.
- You monitor safety performance KPI’s, identity trends and opportunities for improvement.
- You work closely with internal and external stakeholders on emergency planning for buildings and you coordinate evacuation drills.
- You perform a range of secretarial tasks for the Health and Safety Committee as required by the committee’s operational regulations. This includes preparing agendas, recording minutes, tracking action items, and facilitating communication between committee members and other stakeholders.
- You work closely together with safety coordinators at constructions sites on a project basis, and with the environmental coordinator. You participate or coordinate ongoing education, awareness campaigns, and internal training to promote health and safety best practices among all employees.

You’ll be part of the Social Relations and Health & Safety team, consisting of 5 passionate and talented professionals.
You will report directly to the Health and Safety Manager.
Your profile

- Minimum of 3 years of experience as prevention advisor or equivalent working experience in an industrial or production environment. Experience in a construction environment is an advantage.
- Holding a bachelor degree in a technical field.
- Holding a prevention advisor level 2 certificate.
- Fluent in English and Dutch. Knowledge of French is an asset.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Codex, applicable laws, and regulatory standards governing occupational health and safety.
- Experience in documentation management, risk assessment, and the implementation of workplace safety protocols.
- Experience in interpreting and applying occupational health and safety legislation, standards, and best practices.
- Proven capacity to respond decisively and independently in emergency or high-pressure situations.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and documentation requirements efficiently.
- Strong analytical skills for incident investigation, data-driven reporting and to advise management in solving complex problems in a pragmatic and result-oriented manner.
- Excellent coaching skills to strengthen the safety culture within the company.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities for preparing reports, documentation, and committee correspondence.
- Proficiency in using relevant office software and tools for record-keeping, analysis, and presentation.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with health and safety legislation and advancements.
