Your Role:

As Deputy AML Compliance Officer, you will be a full member of the Compliance team and act as the formally designated deputy of the AML Compliance Officer.

You will play a key role within the second line of defence, contributing to the effectiveness of the AML/CFT framework while gaining exposure to a broad range of compliance activities.

What the Key Tasks Look Like:

AML Oversight & Advisory

  • Support and advise the AMLCO in their responsibilities
  • Review AML investigations escalated from the first line
  • Provide second-line guidance on AML matters

Monitoring & Risk Assessments

  • Conduct AML monitoring and control reviews
  • Contribute to periodic and ad hoc AML risk assessments

Regulatory Reporting

  • Prepare regulatory reporting to the National Bank of Belgium
  • Contribute to internal reporting to senior management

Investigations & FIU Reporting

  • Analyse suspicious transactions and support investigations
  • Act as AMLCO back-up for STR/SAR filings to the FIU

Audit & Continuous Improvement

  • Support internal and external audits
  • Contribute to remediation actions and process improvements
  • Assist in the development of AML policies and procedures

Training & Awareness

  • Prepare and deliver AML training sessions

Broader Exposure

  • Opportunity to contribute to other compliance topics (fraud, FATCA/CRS, distribution, data protection)

Your Profile:

  • Around 3 years of AML/CFT experience within a financial institution in Belgium
  • Sound understanding of Belgian AML regulatory requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Autonomous, structured and detail-oriented
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills

Required Skills and Competences:

  • Languages skills: English is required and you are able to speak fluently in French or Dutch.
  • Education: Bachelor and/or Master's degree or equivalent through experience
  • Certifications (e.g., CAMS): considered a plus
