Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a talented Operational Procurement Manager, who will play a central role in ensuring the availability, movement and compliance of aircraft materials and components to support uninterrupted maintenance operations. - You will oversee the operational procurement of aircraft parts, materials, tools, and consumables supporting maintenance operations
- Be responsible for a team of ~8 FTE
- Represent Brussels Airlines in the Lufthansa Group for operational procurement projects and topics
- Ensure timely placement and follow‑up of purchase and repair orders, including AOG support and alternative supplier sourcing
- Coordinate with engineering, planning, maintenance, and inventory management to forecast material needs and ensure optimal stock levels
- Manage supplier selection, negotiations, and repair events for non‑contracted repair and overhaul activities
- Monitor critical shipments and major component movements to ensure on‑time delivery
- Build and maintain strong, effective relationships with suppliers of spare parts and services
- Ensure full alignment with long‑term contracts negotiated by Strategic Procurement
- Maintain and manage the approved vendor list based on quality, compliance, lead time, and commercial performance
- Optimize stock rotation and manage surplus through proactive inventory actions and part sales
- Act as a key interface between Brussels Airlines Operational Procurement and Lufthansa Group Fleet Management
- Ensure compliance with EASA, FAA, IATA, and national regulations, including leading audits
- Drive process optimization through lean initiatives, digitization, automation, and data‑driven KPI monitoring
- Use data insights to identify inefficiencies, implement corrective actions, and promote best practices
- Lead and inspire the team through coaching, empowerment, change management, and a culture of continuous improvement

Where do you land?
You’ll be part of the Maintenance & Engineering team — a passionate and committed group that plays a key role in ensuring every flight is safe, enjoyable, and on time. Our technicians and engineers keep our aircraft in top condition — from the tip of the nose to the top of the tail.
You will report directly to the Head of Procurement, Warranty & Aircraft Transitions.
Your profile

- bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Civil Engineering and/or Business Administration or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably within the aviation industry with experience in line or base maintenance operations
- Proven leadership experience with strong people management capabilities
- Deep knowledge of technical aircraft systems, airworthiness regulations, and the aviation supplier and MRO market
- Knowledge of AMOS would be an advantage
- Experience in supplier management, including contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and relationship development
- Knowledge of cost accounting, investment analysis and their impact on a company’s Profit & Loss and balance sheet
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to use data insights to support strategic decisions
- Solution-oriented and hands-on mindset with a proactive, adaptable approach to challenges
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a fact-based decision-making style
- High level of ownership and accountability
- Proficient in English (verbal and written); Dutch and/or French is a plus
